7 Habits That Build Resilience
Challenging situations are opportunities for growth and improvement. You learn a lot about yourself when the going gets tough and these situations are lessons that help you succeed in business and life. What you build along the way is resiliency, an important character trait for your success.
Resilience is defined as the ability to adapt to and overcome stressful situations. By that definition, an entrepreneur's life is an exercise in resiliency. Every day there are challenges that must be faced and overcome. But how you approach your life and build resiliency can make the difference between it feeling manageable or chaotic. The tips below will help you conduct your day with greater equanimity while helping you build your perseverance.
1. Eat a sound diet:
Studies repeatedly show that highly nutritious diets maximize energy, stamina, improve brain cognition, help mitigate the effects of stress and prevent disease. Evaluate your diet, making sure you're leaning heavily on plant-based foods such as vegetables, beans, fruit and nuts for their optimal nutrition and antioxidant benefits. Include lean protein for enhanced muscle tone and healthy brain function, particularly wild Alaskan salmon and eggs. The Omega-3 essential fats in salmon have been shown to be particularly good for brain health and egg yolks contain lecithin, which has been shown to enhance acetylcholine production, a neurotransmitter that allows for greater focus and concentration.
2. Eliminate junk food:
If your go-to snacks are cookies, candy, chips or soda it may signal out of control stress levels. It is well documented that a diet high in processed, refined and sugary foods makes you prone to depression and anxiety, neither of which will help you rebound in tough situations. Once you start down the path of junk food for a fleeting boost in energy levels, you are eroding your resiliency, setting yourself up to be chronically overwhelmed. Make your office a junk-food-free zone and keep fruit, nuts, nut butters, sparkling water and green juice on hand instead.
3. Exercise:
It's clearly established that exercise is better for managing mood disorders than anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medications. There is no greater neutralizer than a good sweat at the gym. Make exercise a non-negotiable part of your life and schedule it at least three times a week. For a greater bump in resiliency, make time for the gym on particularly busy days. This builds enormous mental strength and tenacity because you are essentially pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, letting yourself know that even with a demanding day, you are committed to your well-being.
4. Plan ahead:
In addition to meetings and work load, plan your workouts and what you will eat every day. Taking a few minutes to plan your flow, will go a long way towards helping you stay on track, both in the office and at home. This small habit can make you as much as 90% more successful at hitting your mark. Think about it, if you've had a bad day and only quasi-committed to going to the gym, do you think you'll make it there? Writing it down will help you follow through, building resiliency.
5. Manage stress:
Stress is unavoidable, part and parcel of being human. But for an entrepreneur who is trying to build a business while managing a personal life, stress can feel out of control. This can lead to anxiety which in turn can lead to depression or other mood disorders, none of which are helpful. Eating well and regular exercise are enormously beneficial for stress management, so putting those two practices in place are priority number one. But if your stress level is out of control and the gym is just not cutting it, consider options like Yoga, Tai Chi, meditation or even just a 20 minute walk in nature if it's available to you. While you may think that stress is a fuel that drives you, it is actually fanning the flames of burnout.
6. Cultivate gratitude:
When success is at hand, it is tempting to keep shooting higher, setting your sites on ever greater goals. While I completely encourage you to keep setting the bar higher, it is also important to stop and smell the roses sometimes and be grateful for all that you have achieved thus far. Gratitude can fuel even greater success. When you are thankful for your life as it is, everything beyond that is gravy, helping to cultivate a sense of contentment. This, in turn can help alleviate stress. Not only that, studies show that those who spend a little time in gratitude every day tend to be happier, sleep better and manage challenging times better. So give thanks for all you have and are right now... It might just lead to even greater success!
7. See challenges as opportunities:
In his book, Business Brilliance by Lewis Schiff, (a must-read for entrepreneurs), he writes how extremely successful entrepreneurs possess a strong conviction that allows them to see every set back as an opportunity to learn something that they simply would not have learned any other way. Most super successful people have suffered some sort of major setback in their career. Rather than give up, they learned from it, went back to the drawing board and tried again, using their newfound understanding to make them even more successful. When you come up against adversity, take a minute to evaluate the situation, learn what you did wrong so you can make better decisions next time, and create a new plan to help you achieve your intended goal. There is no better way to build resiliency.

Do You Want Change Your Life?
Are you aging faster than your years? If you don't like what you see in the mirror. Why do most people fail to stick to something challenging, like losing weight or getting in better shape? They don't start small. They immediately go all in.
it may be time to evaluate some of your daily routines and change everything, which pretty soon results in not changing anything.
So for now just make these five changes:
1. Drink a glass of water before every meal.
Everyone needs to drink more water. That's a given. Plus when you drink a glass of water before you eat you'll already feel a little more full and won't be as tempted to eat past the point of hunger.
2. Eat one really healthy meal.
Pick one meal. Just one. Then change what you eat. If it's lunch, eat one portion of protein that fits in the palm of your hand, a vegetable or fruit, and four or five almonds.
I know that's not a lot of food, but it's healthier than what you're eating now and, just as important, it lets you take small steps toward better controlling your portions at every meal.
Other examples: Pack a can of tuna and two apples. Or bring a skinless chicken breast and some cucumbers. Just make sure you prepare it ahead of time--that way you won't have to decide to eat healthy. You just will.
3. Use your lunch to be active.
It doesn't take 30 minutes or an hour to eat. So make your lunch break productive.
Go for a walk. (Better yet, find a walking buddy or do like LinkedIn's Jeff Weiner and have walking meetings.) Or stretch. Or do some push-ups or sit-ups.
It doesn't matter what you do as long as you do something. You'll burn a few calories, burn off some stress, and feel better when you climb back into the work saddle.
And you'll start to make fitness a part of your daily lifestyle without having to add to your already busy schedule.
4. Eat one meal-replacement bar.
OK, so most protein bars taste like flavored sawdust. But most are also nutritious and low in calories, and they make it easy to stave off the midafternoon hunger pangs you'll inevitably feel after having eaten, say, a light lunch.
Don't get too hung up on nutritional values; just pick a bar that includes 10 or 15 grams of protein (think protein bar, not energy bar) and you'll be fine.
Eating a midmorning or midafternoon meal replacement bar doesn't just bridge the gap between meals; it's an easy way to get in the habit of eating smaller meals more frequently, another habit you'll eventually want to adopt.
And, finally, a bonus habit to toss in once a week:
5. Have fun completing a physical challenge.
It would be great if you could consistently hit the gym four to five days a week, but if you're starting from zero instantly transforming yourself into a gym rat isn't realistic.
Instead, once a week pick something challenging to do. Take a really long walk. Take a long bike ride. Take a testing hike.
Good Luck

You Must Change Your Habits to Lose Weight
Are You satisfied with your body ? HOW we can getting our dream body ? there may be other factors that keep you from getting the figure of your dreams. Of course, we are not saying that some people eat everything they want and still look amazing.
There are many people that have struggled their entire lives to maintain a perfect physique.
We have listed the worst habits that affect weight, so you may want to take them into consideration next time you wonder what happens to your body.
Stress
Stress makes your body and mind crave for food, and you end up eating whatever comes to your hand. Food is not a solution to your problems. Try and find another way to solve what bothers you. This condition is extremely expressed in some people. Relieve your stress and all your craving will disappear.
Skipping meals
If you eat less you will getting a nice body? of course not, because one giant meal, make your body salvage the nutrients it needs from that single meal. This is severely bad for your health. People prefer to skip their breakfast which is absolutely wrong, as it is the most important meal of the day. Skipping your breakfast will make you eat more during the day. Try eating 5 smaller meals a day and make sure you do not eat after 8 in the evening. This could also be the reason why you cannot get thinner.
You eat super-fast
Eating fast causes long-term problems. You should know that you must chew food 30-40 times before you swallow it. This process has been questioned for many years, but it is the best way to eat your meals. Your body needs about half an hour to digest food and to send you a signal that you are full. Take your time when eating, and you will eat less food, and thus lose weight more easily.
Staying up late
The first sends signals to the brain reminding your body that you are full, and ghrelin stimulates the feeling of hunger. Sleeping deprives both hormones of what they require to protect your health. This may be the reason why you tend to eat that late, and to avoid this try to sleep at least 7 hours a day.
Excess caffeine
Excessive consumption of caffeine increases the secretion of cortisol, known as the stress hormone. It causes sugar and fat cravings. Can you imagine what does this cause? If your answer is gaining weight, yes, you got that one right. Be careful with your caffeine consumption, cause it sure does more than keeping you awake.
Excessive consumption of processed foods
Your obesity may be a result of your excessive consumption of processed foods. These products are high in fat and sugar, which sure do not help in losing weight. Cookies, chips, cakes, and frozen foods will only make you gain even more weight. Avoid these and you will sure notice some difference on the scale and in your hallway mirror.
Ignoring your thirst
The major reason may be the fact that you simply do not drink enough water. People do not believe that their bodies need water the most and drawn themselves in sugar laden beverages that only increase their weight. Make sure you drink 2 liters of water. This will boost your metabolism and of course, leave less room in your stomach. Water has shown to reduce the risk of heart attack, headache, and it also detoxifies body. So, drink more water.
Shopping in the center aisle of grocery stores
This is where all the processed food and drinks are. Well, we have a tip for you – stay away from center isles. Avoiding fatty isles at grocery stores will help you melt pounds, and this is only because you do not consume unhealthy foods and drinks anymore.
Quit these bad habits and you will see some amazing results. Any physical activity is more than welcomed. And that is the perfect recipe for getting the body of your dreams.
Good luck

Do not Throw Away Your Banana Peel Again
Bananas are world’s most popular fruits, and they are also on the top of the list of the most widely consumed fruits in the US. They are rich in potassium and pectin. Their high antioxidant content provides a strong protection against free radicals.
Thanks to their vitamin B6 content, bananas have the ability to reduce swelling, prevent Type 2 diabetes, support healthy weight loss, stimulate the nervous system and aid in the creation of white blood cells.
This delicious fruit can be used in the treatment of depression, and also to improve mental abilities, deal with hangovers, relieve morning sickness, prevent kidney cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis and blindness.
Use bananas to reduce itchy feeling caused by mosquito bites, and also to give your shoes an amazing shine. Unfortunately, many people focus on eating the sweet fruit and simply dump the peel in the trash.
Banana peel contains great nutrients, and in some cultures it is part of the traditional menu. Same as the fruit itself, the peel is rich in magnesium, potassium, fiber, protein, and vitamins B6 and B12.
It is also packed with bioactive compounds like polyphenols and carotenoids. But, be careful, sometimes the peel is sprayed with chemical-laden pesticides, so make sure you buy fresh, organic bananas or simply wash the peel thoroughly before using it.
When it comes to its health properties, here are some great ways to use banana peels:
1. Remove Warts
You can use banana peels to remove warts in two ways. First, simply rub the inner part of the peel on the wart for two minutes or until it is thoroughly moist.
The other option is to place the peel on the wart and secure it with a bandage. In this way you can keep the peel on overnight. Choose which method works better for you and repeat it until the wart disappears completely.
2. Treat Bug Bites and Skin Irritations (Eczema)
Rub the inside of the peel on the affected skin area. This will keep your skin hydrated for longer. The nutrients in the peel will neutralize the stinging and itching sensation. You can also use the peel as a pain reliever.
3. Whiten Teeth
Rub the inside of the peel on your teeth for 1-2 minutes. Rinse. Repeat the treatment twice a day for a week.
4. Acne Treatment
Simply rub the inside of the banana peel on the infected area for a minute. Repeat the treatment up to three times a day until the condition of your skin improves. The antioxidants in the peel will destroy any bacteria on your skin.
5. Natural Polish
Banana peels give a great shine to many items, ranging from your shoes to your leather furniture and silver. Rub the pithy side of the peel on the area you want polished. Then, buff it using a soft cloth. If you are polishing your silver, blend the peel with some water.
6. Hemorrhoids
Apply the same method as if you were treating irritated skin (number 2). Rub the peel on the affected area for 5 minutes. Repeat the treatment if necessary, 3-5 times a day. For optimal results, place a piece of the peel on the area and keep it on overnight or during the day.
The peel has strong anti-inflammatory properties and it will reduce any swelling. Same as irritated skin, it will also relieve itching caused by the hemorrhoid.
7. Anti-Aging Treatment (Wrinkles)
Use the inside of the peel to nourish your face and hydrate your skin. The peel will tighten your skin and make it softer. This treatment will also reduce small wrinkles.

To Fight Abnormal cells in Your Body Eat Ripe Bananas with Dark Spots?
If you really like bananas, carefully choose the healthiest fruits. It is pretty hard to resist this sweet and delicious tropical fruit, but there is one special thing you should be aware of when buying bananas.
Fully ripe bananas contain a substance known as TNF, or Tumor Necrosis Factor, which has the power to fight abnormal cells. Ripe bananas develop dark spots on their skin.
The more spots it has, the higher immunity enhancing effect it has. Bananas are quite popular in Japan.
A Japanese scientific research showed that ripe bananas contain TNF which provides strong anticancer properties. TNF increases the power of your immune system. Researchers concluded that consuming ripe bananas is a great way to prevent life-threatening diseases and cancer.
The strength of TNF depends on the ripeness of your fruits, so you may want to look for a fully ripe fruits.
Fruit’s nutrient content changes as it ripens. As bananas ripen, their antioxidant level increases gradually. In fully ripe bananas with dark spots on their skin starch turns into simple sugar, which are a lot easier to digest.
Japanese scientists did a research based on the health benefits of different ripe fruits, including banana, grape, apple, watermelon, pineapple, pear and persimmon.
The research showed that only ripe bananas provide maximum benefits. They stimulate the production of white blood cells, boost immunity and produce TNF. Experts recommend eating a banana or 2 a day to boost your immunity and fight cold, flu and the like.
Bananas with a lot of dark spots contain a considerable amount of TNF-alpha and they are 8 times healthier than green or fresh bananas without any spots, i.e. 8 times more effective in improving the function of white blood cells.
TNF is a cytokine, or a substance that is secreted by certain cells in the immune system and has the ability to affect other cells. This works amazing when it comes to fighting abnormal cells.
Many studies have shown that the level of TNF induction increases markedly with the number of dark spots on the skin right before the peel turns brown.
Bananas are often compared to Lentinan, a chemical immunostimulant that is administered intravenously and acts as an anti-cancer agent. This means that ripe bananas act as anti-cancer agents and stimulate the production of white blood cells, which prevent cell mutation.
Note: Store fully ripe bananas in your fridge to stop any further loss of nutrients. Fresh bananas with brown spots on their skin are ripe enough and you can eat them immediately. Avoid over-ripe bananas with completely brown or split open skin.
Good luck

What is the Mediterranean Diet?
In recent years, a growing number of men and women in different countries around the world have become increasingly concerned about their health. Because of the fact that many people have become more concerned about their overall health, these men and women have paid closer attention to what they eat on a regular basis. In the final analysis, these men and women are making dietary decisions designed to improve their general health and wellbeing.
As people have become more conscious of their health and diet, a considerable number of these same men and women have become interested in the Mediterranean diet regimen. If you are, in fact, a person who appreciates the interrelationship between diet and health, you may have a definite interest in the history of the Mediterranean diet regimen.
Before you can appropriately understand what the Mediterranean diet is all about, you need to appreciate that it is more of a concept than a specific dining routine. In reality, there is no such thing as a Mediterranean diet common to all of the countries in the Mediterranean region of the world. Rather, the "Mediterranean diet" consists of those food items that people who live in the various nations in the region consume in common.
The Origins of the Mediterranean Diet
The concept of the Mediterranean diet is derived from the eating habits and patterns of the people who populate the countries of Italy, Greece, Spain, France, Tunisia, Lebanon and Morocco. As a result, the Mediterranean diet actually includes a tremendous array of delectable food. In point of fact, if a person elects to adopt the concept of the Mediterranean dining scheme, or if a person elects to follow a Mediterranean diet regimen, he or she will have the ability to enjoy a remarkable assortment of scrumptious fare.
The diet of the peoples that have populated the regions around the Mediterranean Sea actually have remained nearly completely unchanged for well over one thousand years. The history of the region is replete with examples of men and women living longer than similarly situated people who consumed alternate diets. Through the centuries, the people of the Mediterranean Sea region have enjoyed longer lives that people in other parts of the world at the same historical epoch.
At the heart of the Mediterranean diet are foods and beverages that are indigenous to the geographic landmass surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. In short, the development of the Mediterranean dieting and dining pattern initially developed by providence. The people of the region naturally and understandably ate those foods and drank those beverages that readily were available in and around their homes.
The Historical Elements of the Mediterranean Diet Scheme
As mentioned previously, over the centuries, the diet of the peoples of the Mediterranean Sea region has remained essentially unchanged. The Mediterranean diet consists of the bountiful consumption of a number of healthy food items including:
* Fresh fruit
* Fresh vegetables
* Low fat nuts
* Whole grains
* Monounsaturated fat
In a similar vein, the Mediterranean diet utilized by people for generation after generation excludes or limits certain food items that have been deemed harmful in recent scientific studies. These less than desirable food items include:
* Saturated fats
* Red and fatty meat
* Rich dairy products
* Fatty fish
The Historical Effects of the Mediterranean Diet Scheme
As has been alluded to earlier in this article on the history of the Mediterranean diet regimen, the people who inhabit the region have a demonstrably lower rate of heart disease and related ailments that oftentimes have a direct dietary connection. With the advent of scientific studies that have correlated the incidence of health problems with a poor diet, the positive effects of the Mediterranean diet have become self evident.
Research over the course of the past two decades has conclusively demonstrated that the men and women who populate the Mediterranean region are afflicted with heart disease and similar ailments far less often than people in other regions of the world. The experts who have conducted these studies have concluded that there is a strong likelihood that the diet scheme that is common in the Mediterranean region is responsible for maintaining the good health of the people who live in that corner of the globe throughout the past one thousand years.
Conclusion: The Expansive Use of the Historical Mediterranean Diet Scheme
During the past twenty years, a significant number of people in different countries around the world have turned their attention towards finding healthy diet regimens that are low in saturated fat and that include bountiful servings of fresh fruits and vegetable. Consequently, the Mediterranean diet has caught the eye of innumerable people who want to include healthy eating into their overall course of prudent living. In short, the Mediterranean diet encompasses foods and beverages that, when consumed in moderation, can work to lessen the threat of some serious diseases and can aid in creating the necessary foundation for a long, hearty lifetime.

6 Easy Ways to Lose Weight
You knew you let yourself go a little bit, and after throwing the stupid bathroom scale away because it said you were (insert red-flag number here). Not being able to pull them past your thighs sure does tell you something. If you're at a loss as to how to begin, here's a no-fuss, straightforward, 6-steps guide to losing weight.
1. What to eat: Every time you nosh, be sure to include protein to satisfy your hunger, fiber to fill you up, and healthy crabs to sustain your energy. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be between 300 and 500 calories each, and the two snacks 150 each. Break them down to fit your needs, but you might want your midday meal to be the highest to ensure you have enough time to burn off those calories.
2. Eat five times a day: In order to prevent that famished feeling that drives us to overeat, plan on eating three meals and two snacks a day, timing them so you eat about every two to three hours.
Don't skip meals or snacks to save calories since it'll slow down your metabolism and cause weight gain. If you're up late, enjoy a snack after dinner, but be sure to finish it at least an hour or two before bed so digestive issues don't keep you up—getting enough sleep will help you lose weight.
3. Calories per day: Losing weight is all about creating a calorie deficit. One pound equals about 3,500 calories, which breaks down to 500 calories a day. Do a combo of exercise and cutting calories to reach 500, and you'll lose a pound a week. You can meet with a nutritionist or your doctor to find a more specific daily calorie count, but don't dip below 1,200, as it will slow down your metabolism.
4. Keep track: Monitor your calories as accurately as you can. Look up calorie amounts, and write them down in a food journal, or use a weight-loss app. Everything you put in your mouth gets written down—yes, even that handful of M&M's you grabbed off your coworker's desk! It may not seem like much, but at 70 calories, those little nibbles will add up. Then weigh yourself once or twice a week to keep track of your progress.
5. Measure and repeat: Have measuring cups, spoons, and food scales on hand to measure correct portions. Eyeballing a cup of cereal is not exactly accurate, and you'd be surprised how easy it is to overestimate when you're hungry. In the first few months, you'll need to measure everything from the milk you pour into that bowl of cereal to the dressing you drizzle on your salad. After a while, you'll become familiar with what correct portions look like.
6. Save calories: Find simple ways to cut calories, whether it's swapping your daily Coke for water, using one slice of cheese on your sandwich instead of two, substituting spaghetti squash for pasta, or choosing a turkey patty instead of beef.
